Trendi Security Gate Installation Guide

The Trendi Security Gate features a multi-hinge design that allows installation on a variety of timber, steel, and masonry door frames.

Because installation methods vary depending on frame depth and mounting position, we strongly recommend referring to the detailed installation guide before starting.

Tools Required

• Measuring tape
• Marker or pencil
• Spirit level
• Drill and suitable drill bits
• Screwdrivers
• Spanners
• Hammer (if required)
• Appropriate fixings for the installation surface

Step 1: Check Your Doorway

Measure the width and height of the opening.

Check the depth of the door handle and surrounding frame to determine the most suitable hinge configuration.

Step 2: Assemble the Gate Hardware

Attach the supplied hinges to the gate panel.
Position the lock-keep and any supplied extensions as required.
Do not fully tighten fixings until the gate position has been confirmed.

 
       

Step 3: Position the Gate

Place the gate within the doorway and support it using a temporary spacer or block.
Use a spirit level to ensure the gate is straight and correctly aligned.

Step 4: Secure the Hinges

Mark the fixing positions.
Drill pilot holes and secure the hinges to the frame.
Ensure all fixings are tightened securely.

Width Coverage

The final installed width can vary depending on the hinge configuration, mounting method, and whether a lock keep extension is used.

Maximum Width Coverage: 840mm

• Sill-fixed installation
• Lock keep extension fitted

Minimum Width Coverage: 770mm

• Face-fixed installation
• No lock keep extension fitted

Step 5: Install the Lock-Keep

Close the gate and confirm the lock tongue aligns correctly with the lock-keep.

Mark the position, drill pilot holes, and secure the lock-keep.

Allow sufficient clearance for smooth locking and unlocking.

Step 6: Install the Lock Protection Plate

Position the lock protection plate over the lock area.

Mark and drill fixing holes.

Secure using the supplied screws.

Step 7: Final Check

Open and close the gate several times.

Confirm that:

✔ The gate swings freely

✔ The lock engages correctly

✔ Hinges are secure

✔ All fixings are tightened

✔ The lock protection plate is fitted correctly
