Step 1: Prepare the Installation Area
Check that your opening matches the supplied Clear Guard dimensions and ensure the installation surface is clean and free from obstructions.
Gather all components and tools before starting.
Step 2: Install the First Side Frame
Position the side frame against the opening.
Ensure the larger access holes face inward.
The smaller fixing holes should sit against the wall or frame.
Secure the frame using appropriate screws.
Make sure rivet locations remain accessible.
Step 3: Install the Opposite Side Frame
Position the second side frame parallel to the first.
Check alignment carefully before securing the frame permanently.
The two side frames should be level and evenly spaced.
Step 4: Install the Centre Support (If Required)
For wider openings, install the centre support bracket supplied with the kit.
Position the support between the two side frames.
Secure both the top and bottom fixing points.
Confirm the support is straight before tightening.
Step 5: Install the Polycarbonate Slats
Remove the protective film from the ends of each slat.

Some homeowners prefer a cleaner appearance that maintains visibility, natural light, and the overall feel of their living spaces. Clear Guard provides an alternative approach. Using strong polycarbonate slats within an aluminium frame, Clear Guard helps strengthen vulnerable windows while keeping views open and maintaining a lighter, less intrusive appearance. It is commonly chosen for:
Modern homes
Living rooms and street-facing windows
Areas where preserving natural light matters
Homeowners wanting protection with a more subtle appearance
Properties where traditional bars may feel visually heavy
Clear Guard offers practical window protection without creating the enclosed appearance that some people associate with traditional security bars.
