How to Measure

Choosing the right security product starts with measuring the opening you want to protect. In most cases, you only need two measurements:

  • Width – the distance across the opening
  • Height – the distance from the bottom to the top of the opening

Measure the opening itself, not the glass or moving parts of the window or door.

Two Common Installation Methods

  • The security product is installed inside the frame, running parallel to the window or door. Strongest installation method.

  • The security product is installed onto the face of the frame or wall surface, sitting outside the opening.
